Today we where hard at work, direct seeded carrots and turnips. One bed has both 30 day Turnips and 60 day Carrots. We transplanted lettuce we seeded on February 25th, exactly 30 days in the flat! We are planning to have another delicious produce bag next week with Baby Leaf Spinach, Cilantro, Radish and Kale.
We have been busy seeding tomatoes, celery, beets, kohlrabi. On Saturday we planted over 800 tomatoes seeds! We are also going to seeding some Beets and Kohlrabi for transplant so we can have some early beets ready in May. Our garlic has emerged from the ground, and hopefully soon our Asparagus will start to grow!
We had a lot of fun picking, washing and preparing the bags today. This is the earliest produce bag we have made yet!
This year we are trying to post our produce bags prior to delivery so you know what you’re getting. So before we pulled the frost cover over tonight we took some pictures then picked an example of what you can expect to pickup on March 19th.
Things are starting to grow much quicker. We may have a produce bag ready for March 19 or March 26. Here are some pictures of our cold frames.
